Bob, this is a great site!!! I've always loved the work of James Jamerson and I feel that even though a bit of controversy is bringing a few people to this site and others, I hope that people remember that Mr. Jamerson, Ms. Kaye, Chuck Raney, Chuck Berghofer and others have not gotten the respect, money and applause they deserve. It's part of our responsibility as humans to give kudos to these people WHEN THEY ARE ALIVE!!! As I think about the life of Curtis Mayfield, I feel horrible that he suffered in his last few years, but thank God he had a chance to feel the love that the public felt for him. He left us knowing he touched many people. Make sure you seek out the artists that you respect, buy their albums instead of taping them, and see these people play live. I have the feeling that Mr. Jamerson died lonely. Let's make sure it doesn't happen to any more giants of music. Thanks for shining a light on the truth of Mr. Jamerson's great body of work.
