I've not heard a lot of Carol Kaye, but Jamerson's (or whomevers?) work has influenced me greatly. I started playing in '71 and while I have been mostly a weekend warrior, I feel like I have a good ear and feel. I can play 16th notes (depending on tune speed) with one finger too, although I'm more efficient with two. And "I Was Made To Love Her" sounds too much like the other Jamerson stuff to me, from a feel perspective.
Just my $.02 worth, Carol is a tremendous talent but may have mixed soem things up a bit. Hell, it happens to me all the time!
