For thrilling syncopation, I love what Jamerson played on "God is Love" from the "What's Goin' On?" album. I'm talking about the part right after the tune pauses and there is a little ascending line on vibes. Wow! The whole band was on fire. I have transcribed most of that, by the way, if anyone is interested.
